Deutschland, Deutschland, uber alles
09.25.04 (6:14 am)   [edit]
Hello, fellow Wiesbaden Warriors. Welcome. Due to a restructuring of this site, the initial images aren't available just yet, but in the mean time, here are a few for the hard core Wiesbadener..

(The tourist shots will be back soon. Keep checking back.)

Here she is, in all her cool, gray glory..

Anyone remember where this miniature replica is to be found?

The walkplatz..

Altstadt..

The chess set..

Nassauerhof..

Name this street.. muwah ha haaa... it's a toughy..

Taunus Strasse..

This really brings back Wiesbaden for me..

Wilhelm Strasse..

-This- is how I remember the Kurhaus.. glossy, spectacular pictures are fine, but day to day.. it was more like this..

Anyone? I'll give you a hint.. Biebricher Allee..

(Don't let the sign give anything away..)

A little further down the street.. this would be the 'back yard..'

(Any guesses?)

And this would be the front..

Leave us a note, letting us know you were here. More pictures coming, so book mark us and check back. :)

* * 06/11/07 update * * Oops. I thought the comment feature was up and functional. Looks like I goofed. It should be on now, so please give a shout. :) -Lindy

Thank you, Lil PG! The music doesn't really fit the site, but it goes perfectly with the movie located at the bottom left of the blog. If you didn't see it, I highly encourage you to take a look. It's worth it. :)

Hey, glad to see you made it over here. I have been remiss in adding more, but will do so now that I know people are actually visiting here! I haven't forgotten about scanning the yearbook for you! :)

Hey, Sharon, good luck with your search. Certainly it is worth combing the www.hahahi.com site for some news. There are usually some links to many different eras from classmates who felt inspired to create their own website. Thank you for stopping by and good luck in your search!

I hope you check back for this...

the guy who is doing the letter jackets does them so
that they look VERY much like the old ones.
Contact him, he's from 1964 but would have been
class of 1968, and very nice.
His name is Mark Hutchins

Frank, danke sehr. I hope your Easter was a good one too. I am sitting here reading my response to you about the letter jackets... and it makes no sense to me whatsoever. I didn't even tell you where to go to find this person, Mark Hutchins... I believe you can find his contact information on the www.hahahi.com website. If you can't find him, jsut let me know and I will do some legwork for you. peace.

Lindy,
LOVED the pics! Wow, it's been so long that I don't remember most of the places..with a few exceptions of course. Hmm...early alzheimers??? or was it just all of the time I spent at the bars downtown..hmmm. :o) I am going to stop by Wiesbaden sometime real soon while i'm back in Germany.

wow. it really tears the heart strings to see all those pics! I'd love to know if someone has a pic of the mansion in Neroberg -when we were there! It was all boarded up, so of course we tresspassed. ran into a german inside who scared poop out of us just by saying "guten tag". he left early, he said "to go have tea before bed"...strange, but then again, he didnt get CAUGHT.ug. too longa story -sorry! loved the photos Lindy. I was dissapointed I missed the 88 crowd in San Anton. (but, texas is a BIG state....)

Wow, what a story! Haha, another wacky memory, compliments of Wiesbaden.. I've got a few too, but I try not to advertise them, as they tend to make me look like a wild child... (which I am, haha).. I'm glad you enjoyed the pics - I've seen some pictures from Neroberg and Nerothal.. I'll keep hunting high and low for the mansion.. :)

Weird.. I *just* sent you an email, April and then popped over here for the first time in a while, and here you are. I'm glad you enjoyed the pictures. It makes me miss Wiesbaden a lot too when I see them. I too want to take my girls there so they can see where I grew up, but mostly, I just want to spend time home.. still, we're so lucky to have had the time we did there. I wouldn't trade it for anything. Good to see you again, April.

Hi Lindy-- those pictures are downright painful. Sometimes my husband tells me I was moaning in my sleep-- turns out I was dreaming about Germany, and in my dreams I'm so happy to be back that I'm actually sobbing. I need therapy. :)

Awww, Abby, I so understand how you feel. Wiesbaden is truly home and I haven't been back now for over ten years. It's tough when you identify so much more with a place so far away. I hope you take advantage of some of the great airfares I run across.. you could take your husband there and soak it up for a while. I know I'm going to make that happen for me and my girls. :)

Nice to see all those great photos! Made me cry... What a place!!! Like everyone else, I want to take my kids there one day and show them around.. I wish I had taken more photos back then... I'm a fiend about it now, but in high school I had no idea how much I'd want to revisit the walkplatz and Big Ben's! take care and keep up all the great work you do to keep us all connected!

I don't have my yearbooks with me, but I'm going to go out on a limb and say I remember you.. blond longish hair, sunglasses and definitely a rocker.. am I close? Hope so. Otherwise, I'll need some milk to wash my foot down, but then, that wouldn't be a first. Thanks for stopping by. :)
